Nook Restaurant Booths Create a Laid-back Vibe at Lot 25
Dynamic and inspirational interior design is a vital factor in creating the right atmosphere for hospitality and social spaces, and the choice of seating plays a significant role. When Cambridgeshire-based restaurant, café, and bar Lot 25 were looking to craft a vibrant and welcoming environment for their own individual blend of dining, relaxation, and hospitality during the renovation of their barn premises, they called on specialists Styled Home Design, who came up with a very individual solution for restaurant seating booths.
Introduced in 2024, Nook is an innovative seating concept designed by Gael Blake for comfort and versatility. Equally at home in domestic and commercial settings, Nook’s clever combination of sizes, designs, fabrics and finishes enables individuals to style their own solutions using artisan-manufactured products offering flexibility, practicality and performance in use.
Striking and cost-effective solutions
Principal designer and owner of Styled Home Design Natasha King first came across Nook during the procurement process for one of her commercial projects, where she was looking for a pre-made solution for booth seating. For Lot 25, she was seeking to create a striking feature for the upper floor of the barn renovation, which included three back-to-back booth seats in a half-moon shape. Using Nook off-the-shelf products, she was able to achieve this with a striking and more cost-effective solution than purpose-built banquette seating.
“I particularly liked the fact that Nook gave me the option to bespoke the fabrics and ways of using the fabrics to create something unique”, stated Natasha. “Nook also provided excellent technical support, taking me through the options including the fabric grade to ensure we were compliant with restaurant regulations for fireproof fabrics.”
“There is an impressive range of choice through Nook’s existing stocked options, but they also offer an option of completely bespoking the fabrics as you wish, which means the seating can work well in both residential and commercial interior design projects. The quality of build is excellent too and will withstand years of use.”

A popular choice for diners at Lot 25
The owners of Lot 25 are delighted with the finished product. “Our beautiful Nooks have been very well received by our customers – many people actually specify them when they’re booking a table!” stated Ed. “They add a cosy feel to our high-ceilinged barn and create a real wow factor as well as working well in terms of space and restaurant seating, making a great contribution to the overall environment.”

“Our Nooks have been popular in residential settings for some time now, and we’re pleased to be working increasingly with designers and contractors on commercial projects,” said Gaël Blake from Nook Home. “Here, they are saving time and money when compared to bespoke joinery and upholstered products. Nooks can also be reupholstered after time to match changing design themes and colours, and we’re always happy to provide advice on the suitability of fabrics and styles.”

Nook booths come in a wide range of configurations and designs, and are upholstered to the rear which means they are suitable for free-standing placement and back-to-wall positioning, working well as room and space dividers. View the full range of Nook furniture.
